Subject Roadside dead tree cutting
Complaint / Requirement

I am the  Santhosh  Kumar  herewith  on behalf  of  residents  at  10th B cross , Jakkur  layout, Ajjappa layout  , hebbal , byatarayanapura , Bangalore -92

We planted a tree  15 year ago, on the road side next to road drain. As days passed,  now the tree  is  posing problems ,obstruction to traffic  vehicular movement  and  road drains. The branches were  touching  the  power  lines  was disrupting the power.  Now and then we used to inform BBMP and get the tree trimmed.  But  now  it is old, small,  ( after pruning many  times now it is  just  7 feet , without  any  branches or leaves in it, only stem is left by the road side )  which is already dead and infested.

Now BBMP has taken up road widening , concretization  of road  for public convenience. Now the same old tree has come  3 feet to the road which obstructs vehicle movement. We request you to cut this dead tree as soon as possible before concretization of road .

Earlier we had given  complaints regarding the same but of no use.   If at all, some staff comes on the line, she says "please give a written complaint"  To Tree officer North ,  Bytarayanapura  080-22485317,  BBMP, Bangalore.  If you are not able to reach the Tree Officer  call the BBMP Control Room - 080-22221188 / 080-22975595 / 080-22225657 and Inform them of the same.  We had tried all these  but of no use.

We understand  trees are  acute necessity to keep the Bangalore green  for which it is known for and for us, but we do not have  other option.

There is a big beehive in the coconut tree. So no one is ready to climb the tree to remove  coconuts and leaves of the tree . They are very much dried and may fall on people at any time. Especially during this rain and wind season, it is highly dangerous to all people. So kindly help us to remove this beehive and also coconut and leaves from the tree. Awaiting your earliest response. Mr GURUBALAN T - 29-05-2025 09:05:36

Respected Sir/Mam,

I hope this message finds you well.
I am writing to bring to your attention an issue concerning a tree located in 12th Main, Kumaraswamy layout 2nd Stage. The tree in front of my home is bent, with several of its branches leaning directly towards the building.

This has raised a few concerns:

The branches are in close proximity to windows and walls, posing a potential risk of damage, especially during high winds or storms.
During the rainy season, the branches make direct contact with the building, which may lead to:

  • Dampness or water leakage through windows
  • Increased risk of pests or insects entering the building
  • Potential damage to the structure or paintwork over time
  • There is also a general safety concern for residents or occupants in the vicinity.

In light of the above, I kindly request that the overhanging branches be trimmed at the earliest convenience to prevent any further risk or inconvenience.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. Please let me know if any additional information is required.

Warm Regards,
Guru

Tree in front of our house fell about 15 minutes ago. blocki the entire road. No damages to the neighbors. Please attend to cut the tree entirely as it has become more dangerous because of the variety. Hope immediate action will be taken.

Vinay S L - 02-06-2025 02:06:58

I am writing to bring to your attention a matter of public inconvenience and potential safety risk. A tree had fallen in our area over a week ago, and while the logs have been moved to the side of the road, no further action has been taken since then. Despite filing a complaint earlier, we have not received any proper response or resolution from the concerned authorities.

The logs are now obstructing part of the footpath and continue to be a hazard for pedestrians and motorists alike. As days go by, the situation is worsening, especially during evening hours when visibility is low. It is also creating a breeding ground for insects and rodents, further adding to public health concerns.

We kindly urge the BBMP to expedite the process of clearing the remaining logs and ensure the area is fully restored to its original condition. Prompt action in this matter would be greatly appreciated by all the residents of the locality.

Thank you for your attention to this issue. We look forward to your swift response and action.

Respected Sir/Madam,

I am writing to bring to your kind attention a matter of urgent concern regarding a tree located adjacent to our residence at 467/A, 8th Main, 6th Cross, Vivekanagar, Bengaluru – 560047 (Behind Vivekanagar Play Ground).

The said tree, which is on government/public land, has been growing significantly towards our house. Over the past year, its branches and structure have started leaning dangerously towards our building. There is a growing fear that during heavy winds, rains, or storms in the coming months or year, it might fall on our house, posing a serious threat to the safety of the residents and causing potential property damage.

For your reference, I have attached photographs of the tree taken in February 2024 and the current condition as of June 2025, clearly showing the increased risk.

In view of the above, I kindly request you to inspect the site at your earliest convenience and grant permission to prune or cut down the said tree to avoid any unfortunate incidents in the future.

Kindly accept my request and do the needful. I shall be grateful for your immediate assistance in this matter.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Yours sincerely,
Thangavel Murthy
