Complaint / Requirement |
Dear BBMP Team,
I would like to bring to your attention an ongoing construction activity at F/18th, 6th Cross, Sirsi Road, Chamarajpet, Bangalore. The site measures approximately 37x15 feet and is being developed without any provision for a common passage *(Set Back)
Additionally, a house is being constructed directly opposite this site, also without a designated common passage, which raises serious concerns regarding:
- Access for emergency services
- Violation of BBMP building bylaws
- Potential safety and legal implications for neighboring properties.
- Lack of sunlight & ventilation
-
No setback reduces natural sunlight and air circulation for your property.
-
This can affect health, comfort, and energy efficiency (higher reliance on artificial light and fans).
-
Violation of building regulations
-
Most municipal/local laws require minimum setbacks for safety, privacy, and ventilation.
-
Not leaving a setback may be a breach of sanctioned plan or building bylaws.
-
Impact on fire safety
-
Setbacks are important for access in emergencies (like fire).
-
No setback can block rescue operations or fire control measures.
-
Obstruction to usage of your first floor
-
You cannot freely light or ventilate your first floor because the construction blocks it.
-
Privacy is also reduced since walls are too close.
-
Risk of dampness and structural damage
-
With no space between buildings, water drainage and maintenance become difficult, leading to seepage/damp walls.
I kindly request the concerned authorities to inspect the site and verify whether the construction complies with BBMP regulations, including setback and access requirements.
Please take appropriate action at the earliest to ensure compliance and prevent any unauthorized development. |
